Excursion by boat to Cai Rang Floating Market (Visit before 8.00am, tour with the early morning start)
The merchants have a great way of showing off their wares at the Cai Rang Floating Market. They simply hang a sample off the top of a long pole! We’ll explore by boat so we can get close up photos of the colourful boats piled high with seasonal vegetables and tropical fruits. Excursion to Tra Su forest with a boat trip [Half day]
For those who seek a sighting of storks, egrets and herons we have the perfect place – Tra Su Forest. However it’s not just wading birds. We’ll also see insects, animals, reptiles and fish among the flooded mangrove forests, lotus blooms and cajuput trees. Excursion to Kampot with visit the caves of Phnom Ta’aun, Phnom Sia and Kampong Trach
The limestone mountains around Kampot and Kep are riddled with caves, many of which are revered as sacred shrines. We’ll venture down the dark corridors of ancient caves to explore chimneys, passageways and rock formations. Many of the caves are lit by sunlight filtering through fissures, while others are dark and mysterious, which just adds to the fun! Day 4 Kep (Breakfast: Hotel )
Excursion by boat to Rabbit Island
Only thirty-minutes by boat from Kep, it’s a hop, skip and jump to Rabbit Island. With no roads or internet, it’s a great place to chill out for a while. Walk, swim or just relax on the beach. Today’s Highlights: Rabbit Island (Koh Tonsay) – Overnight in Kep
Day 5 Kep – Kampong Som (Breakfast: Hotel )
By vehicle from Kep to Kampong Som with visit Phnom Sasear caves, Phnom Chhnork Caves and salt farm
Set off in the morning by vehicle from Kep to Kampong Som. On the way visit the caves at the Sor Soea Cave (Phnom Sasear), known as the ‘White Elephant Cave’, located next to a beautiful pagoda. Inside the cave is a shrine located at the base of a limestone formation which resembles the shape of an elephant. Then continue to Phnom Chhnork, these limestone mountains (phnom) dot the landscape between Kampot and Kep. Within the mountains are many caves, some adorned with exotic rock formations, and almost all containing Buddhist shrines. Finally visit a salt farm before continuing the journey.
