Transfer by boat. By vehicle from Inle Lake to Heho. Flight from Heho to Yangon.

Day 13 – Yangon 

Day 1 – Yangon
Arrival in Yangon where you are greeted and transferred to your hotel. Yangon lies in the fertile delta of southern Myanmar, on the wide Yangon River. The city is filled with tree-shaded boulevards, while shimmering stupas float above the treetops. Start the day in the heart of Yangon which features an interesting selection of monuments and colonial buildings. Sightseeing includes the Independent Monument, High Court, City Hall and the Sule Pagoda. Finally, continue to the Shwedagon Pagoda, the highlight of any visit to Yangon. Overnight in Yangon

Day 2 – Yangon – Mandalay 
Today visit Botataung Pagoda, Chaukhtatgyi Pagoda and watch sunset at Shwedagon Pagoda. Explore Bogyoke Aung San Market, also known as Scott Market, which contains over 2000 stalls and is the best place in Yangon to browse through the complete range of local handicrafts. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Mandalay. Overnight in Mandalay

Day 3 – Mandalay
This morning, head to Mahamuni Paya. The Mahamuni image enshrined here is perhaps the most venerated image in Myanmar, covered in over 15 cm of gold leaf. Stopping en route to observe the laborious process of Gold-Leaf Beating, where gold is painstakingly hammered into tissue-thin square. After lunch explore some of the city’s most interesting temples and palaces. Shwenandaw Kyaung, or the Golden Teak Monastery this intricate monastery is built entirely of golden teak and once part of the Mandalay Palace. Continue to Kyauktawgyi Paya, famous for its monumental seated Buddha, carved from a single block of marble and lastly Kuthodaw Paya, known as “the world’s biggest book”. This evening watch sunset at Mandalay Hill with panoramic views over the city. Overnight in Mandalay

Day 4 – Mandalay
Today visits three former royal capitals, each with its own unique atmosphere. Start at Amarapura, and visit Mahaganayon Monastery where every day, monks and novices line up to receive their daily offering of alms and food from faithful Buddhists. Next head to Sagaing the spiritual centre of Myanmar. Before crossing the Irrawady river Inwa (Ava). Finally head to U Bein Bridge, a picturesque teak bridge which extends over one kilometre across Taungthaman Lake. At dusk, the bridge teems with monks and locals as they stroll home or linger to enjoy the colours of the sunset. Overnight in Mandalay

Day 5 – Pyin Oo Lwin – Mandalay
Transfer to the train station and make the journey by train to Pyin Oo Lwin, originally a Shan Danu village now home to 5,000 Nepalis and 10,000 Indians. Visit the Botanical Gardens with large flowerbeds, natural forest and orchid house. Then drive to Mandalay. Overnight in Mandalay

Today drive to Bagan via the new highway. Overnight in Bagan

Day 7 – Bagan 
Discover the Beauty of Bagan as you explore this vast and fascinating area. The spectacular plain of Bagan stretches away from the Ayeyarwaddy River and is dotted with over 2,000 temple structures dating back over 800 years. Discover temples with unique stories, features and architecture. Have the chance to visit a lacquerware workshop to learn about this intricate process. This evening enjoy a panoramic view of the sun setting over the plain of Bagan from an ancient pagoda. Overnight in Bagan

Day 8 – Bagan – Mount Popa
Today enjoy sightseeing at Mount Popa. A curiously cylindrical hill rising sharply from the surrounding plain, Mount Popa is considered to be the home of Myanmar’s most important nats (spirits). Visitors ascend up a winding covered staircase encircling the mountain, observed by the curious monkeys that populate the area. At the top is a monastery and temple complex, with shrines to the 37 nats and a spectacular view over the region. Overnight in Mount Popa

Day 9 – Mount Popa – Kalaw
Today drive from Mount Popa to Kalaw. Overnight in Kalaw

Day 10 – Kalaw – Inle Lake 
Have the opportunity to visit a vibrant an colorful local market. Then board a train from Kalaw to Aung Ban, continuing by vehicle to Inle Lake. Transfer by boat. Overnight in Inle Lake

Day 11 – Inle Lake 
Enjoy a boat ride on Inle Lake and discover its calm serenity, still waters and colourful brush strokes of floating vegetation and slow moving fishing canoes. Rolling high hills hug the lake on all sides, as the lake’s shore and islands host 17 villages on stilts, mostly inhabited by the Intha people. Visit the enchanting floating gardens, a teeming market and an Intha village around the lake. The day also includes the Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, Inn Paw Khon Village (Lotus and silk weaving villages) and the Nga Phe Kyaung Monastery. Overnight in Inle Lake

Day 12 – Inle Lake – Heho – Yangon
Transfer by boat then drive to Heho for your flight to Yangon. Overnight in Yangon
