Day 1 – Hanoi

Arrive in Hanoi where you are met and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy a day of sightseeing in Hanoi, this modern-day capital still retains the mystery and charm of past centuries. Narrow lanes and traditional shop houses invite an exciting exploration by walking, while it’s many beautiful public spaces; lakes, parks, tree-lined boulevards and monuments; give the city an air of elegance and harmony with nature unique among Asian capital.

Highlights include the Museum of Ethnology containing art and artefacts from the 54 different ethnic groups. Visit the Old Quarter explore on foot the maze of back streets with fascination wonderment. Overnight in Hanoi

Day 2 – Hanoi – Ha Giang
Drive from Hanoi to Pan Hou (Ha Giang). Overnight in Ha Giang

Day 3 – Ha Giang

Trek from Pan Hou village to Thong Nguyen passing different villages of Red Dao and Black Dao people, with villages scattered throughout the beautiful landscape of Hoang Su Phi. Enjoy rice terraces interspersed with lush bamboo forest and tea plantations along the way. Enjoy a picnic lunch at local house before heading back to Pan Hou village. Trekking distance: 12-18k. Overnight in Ha Giang

Day 4 – Ha Giang – Dong Van
Travel along the winding road on high mountain sides with beautiful landscape from Pan Hou via Quang Vinh town to Ha Giang city. Continue the drive to Dong Van Plateau situated at 1,025m above the sea level and inhabited by Hmong and Tay ethnic group. Overnight in Dong Van

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch

Day 5 – Dong Van
Trek from Dong Van to Do Sung and Chinh Chua Lung villages. Visit a village of the H’mong hill tribe while enjoying beautiful landscape. Continue the short trek to Ha De village before stopping for a picnic lunch. In the afternoon trek to Chinh Chua Lung village before driving back to Dong Van. Overnight in Dong Van

Day 6 – Dong Van
Today trek to the Lung Lu, Po Lo and Ma Tia villages. Walk through the Old Quarter to visit the rammed earth houses, hundreds of years old. Visit typical H’mong villages, view locals as they go about their daily life and have a chance to talk with them. A picnic lunch is served in a local village. In the afternoon visit Ma Tia village before heading back to Dong Van town. Overnight in Dong Van

Day 7 – Dong Van – Ha Giang – Cao Bang
Drive to Bao Lac (Cao Bang province) stopping en route to hike down the Meo Vac, a beautiful valley with picturesque terrace fields, winding river and peaceful villages. Continue on to Bao Lac crossing Ma Pi Leng pass, with a view of the highland area and Nho Que river at the bottom of the pass, which runs like a colourful thread through the cliffs. Overnight in Cao Bang

Day 8 – Cao Bang
Today head to Cao Bang, located in Northeastern Vietnam near the Chinese border and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Take a scenic trip to Ban Gioc waterfall, 53 metres high and impressive span of 300 metres. Along the way, you will see Tai, Hmong and Dzao ethnic minority groups. In the afternoon  stop to explore the expansive 2,144 metre Nguom Ngao Cave to discover its brilliant stalactites. Return to Cao Bang. Overnight in Cao Bang

Day 9 – Cao Bang – Ba Be National Park
Today drive to Ba Be National Park and board a boat to head along Nang River to Ba Be lake. With dramatic scenery of the National Park and different tree shapes reflected in the lake. Passing by Puong Grotto before stopping at Tay village where clients will take a short walk to Dau Dang Waterfall. Return to the boat and continue cruising toward the lake, and towards Pac Ngoi Village or Ba Be National Park pier. Overnight in Ba Be National Park

Day 10 – Ba Be National Park
Transfer to Lung Quang village and start a short walk through the rice field where you will hike up the mountain to the Mo and Lom Villages. Enjoy the beautiful landscapes and experience daily life of Tay and Dao People. A picnic lunch will be served in Ban Lom Village. After lunch, continue trekking to Nam Cuong then transfer back to the National Park by vehicle. Overnight in Ba Be National Park

Day 11 – Ba Be National Park – Hanoi
Drive back to Hanoi where you will experience street food and market with a local chef. Starting with a cup of La Han, a special Vietnamese tea, before tasting Pho, a typical food of Hanoian. A short walk will see you at Chau Long market, plentiful with fresh vegetables, live fish, frogs, eels, silk worms and other bizarre products. Sample traditional dishes like bun cha, prawn cake and che. On the way back, stop at Yen Phu to visit a typical old cafe dating back to 1936. Overnight in Hanoi

Day 12 – Hanoi – Halong
This morning drive to Halong Bay and board your luxury cruise, the Paradise Luxury Cruise. On board enjoy a welcome drink before sailing through the majestic Halong Bay with its picturesque limestone cliffs. A gourmet lunch is served as you pass by magnificent sceneries of the World Heritage site. In the afternoon, choose to explore Sung Sot cave, hiking up 600 steps to the magnificent limestone formations or enjoy kayaking around the islets. In the afternoon you can participate in a cooking demonstration with cruise’s chef before dinner is served on board. Overnight on board

Day 13 – Halong – Hanoi
This morning rise early to join a Tai Chi session on the sundeck. Afterwards an early breakfast is served of tea, coffee and assorted pastries. Choose to relax on board or visit Titov island with stunning panoramic views. Back on board enjoy breakfast before check out and return to Tuan Chau Island. Drive back to Hanoi. Overnight Hanoi

Day 14 – Hanoi
Today walk the rail tracks of Hanoi with its very narrow streets. At parts the railway tracks are less than 1 metre from the entrance of houses and local businesses and makes for a photogenic shoot. Continue walking toward Long Bien train station where you cross the bridge and stopping half way to visit a urban island at the bottom of the stairs. Transfer back to your hotel before transferring to the airport for your departure flight
