Day 1 – Hanoi
Arrive in Hanoi and transfer to hotel. Although it is the modern-day capital of Vietnam, Hanoi still retains the mystery and charm of past centuries, with its narrow lanes and traditional shop houses. Enjoy sightseeing including the Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake, the Rising Sun bridge and the Museum of Ethnology. Overnight in Hanoi

Day 2 – Hanoi – Halong
Sightseeing in Hanoi with a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Complex (Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum be viewed from the outside only) and the Temple of Literature. By vehicle drive to Halong Bay. Overnight in Halong

Day 3 – Halong – Ninh Binh
Transfer to/from Tuan Chau Marina Port and board boat for a cruise through the majestic limestone karsts of Halong Bay. Lunch is served on board before returning to port. Drive by vehicle from Halong to Ninh Binh. Overnight in Ninh Binh

Day 4 – Ninh Binh – Vinh
Excursion to Thung Nham where you take a rowing boat ride through three caves, all adorned with beautiful stalactite and stalagmite of different shapes and sizes, reminiscent of gemstone. Along the way, enjoy the tranquil beauty of reed beds, large floodplains. Afterwards drive to Vinh. Overnight in Vinh

Day 5 – Vinh – Hue
Visit Kim Lien, birthplace of Ho Chi Minh. The house in which he was born in 1890 is maintained as a sacred shrine and is a favourite pilgrimage spot for Vietnamese people. Ho’s childhood home is a simple farmhouse, reflecting his humble background. Drive by vehicle to Hue. Overnight in Hue

Day 6 – Hue
Embark on a local boat and cruise down the Pefume River to the iconic Thien Mu Pagoda, an elegant seven-tiered octagonal tower which has become Hue’s most widely recognizable monuments. Next visit the Imperial Citadel, a vast complex built in the early 19th century and modelled after the Forbidden City of Peking. Overnight in Hue

Day 7 – Hue – Danang – Hoi An
Drive to Hoi An via the dramatic Hai Van Pass with spectacular views over the coastline. Visit Cham Museum with artifacts dating back to the 4th century. Hoi An, a picturesque riverside town, was one of South East Asia’s major international ports during the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. Start on a walking tour visiting many of the town’s highlights, including the Japanese Covered Bridge, Tran Family Chapel a 200 year old house and Phuoc Kien Assembly Hall. Later visit a Lantern Making Workshop to learn how they are made. Overnight in Hoi An

Day 8 – Hoi An – Quy Nhon
Drive by vehicle to Quy Nhon. Overnight in Quy Nhon

Day 9 – Quy Nhon – Nha Trang
Drive to Nha Trang. Start exploring Nha Trang with a visit to the Po Nagar Cham Towers. Built between the 7th and 12th centuries, these towers serve as the Holy See honouring the Goddess Yang Ino Po Nagar, the Goddess of the Dua clan which ruled over the southern part of the Cham Kingdom. Also visit Nha Trang Cathedral, built in the French Gothic style with medieval style stained glass windows; and XQ Embroidery to watch artisans create exquisite pieces of embroidered art. Overnight in Nha Trang

Day 10 – Nha Trang – Saigon 
Drive by vehicle to Phan Thiet with sightseeing at the Po Klong Gia Rai Cham Towers. Overnight in Saigon

Day 11 – Saigon 
A vibrant metropolis, Saigon teems with energy, activity and motion. Everywhere you look, you see the convergence of traditional and modern life. Begin with a tour of the historic centre, pass by classic European-style landmarks such as the City Hall, old Opera House and neo-Romanesque Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office. Afterwards visit the Reunification Palace, formerly the Independence Palace of the South Vietnamese president, this 60s style building was famously stormed by tanks on April 30, 1975 signifying the fall of South Vietnam. Continue to the harrowing War Remnants Museum and Emperor of Jade Pagoda, one of Saigon’s most interesting pagodas. In the afternoon, head out to Cholon (Chinatown). Explore the highlights of this fascinating area on a walking tour. End the tour at the central Ben Thanh Market, where vendors display a vast array of goods and handicrafts, appealing to every taste. Overnight in Saigon

Day 12 – Saigon
Immerse yourself in the local culture of the Mekong Delta with a day out to rustic Ben Tre. A journey of about two and a half hours will bring you to a peaceful area of lush orchards, green rice paddies and coconut fields. The fresh sweet coconut juice is said to be the best in the country. Hop on a bike for a ride along the shady paths to visit the home of local antique collector. Continue by bike exploring along rural paths that wind alongside dense vegetation and small tributaries of the Mekong. Board a rowing boat and cruise along the small canals before changing to a motor boat. After a delicious lunch of local specialties cooked by the host, visit local workshops to learn how rice paper and sticky coconut sweets are made. Overnight in Saigon

Day 13 – Saigon
After breakfast enjoy time at your leisure before transferring to the airport for your departure flight.
