Pick-up at your hotel in Bangkok city center (Not available for pick-up at Bangkok airport or Bangkok hotel outside city center) and transfer to Ayutthaya, The old Thai capital of Ayutthaya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the most impressive ruined cities in Asia, and a must-see for history buffs visiting Thailand, head to some of the most famous temples in Ayutthaya, such as Wat Srisanpetch, Wat Yai Chai Mongkol, and Wat Chai Watthanaram; some of which are among the most beautiful in the area. Proceed to Bang Pa In, the former summer residence of the kings of Ayutthaya built in the 18th century. The Royal Palace lies amidst beautiful and extensive park grounds, in an exotic combination of Thai and European architecture. The Thai pavilion was built in the middle of a lake and will certainly catch ones� eye while the Chinese-style palace Vihat Chamrun will impress sightseers by its grandeur, enjoy your lunch. Breakfast at the hotel, check out and drive to Saraburi, visit Phra Phutthabat Shrine, the name of this shrine literally means the Buddha�s Footprints which are housed in the Mondop located on the shelf of Suwan Banphot Hill or Satchaphan Khiri Hill and continue to Lopburi, visit Phra Prang Sam Yot is a Hindu Shrine, is the landmark of Lopburi. It was constructed in Lopburi style with laterite and sandstone decorated with stucco. The adjoining prangs signify the Hindu Trinity of Brahman, Vishnu and Siva. In the reign of King Narai, the Shrine was converted to a Buddhist temple as some Buddhist designs can still be see on it and visit San Phra Kan another Brahmanical shrine lying opposite Phra Prang Sam Yot consists of two sections. The old section dates back to the Khmer period and appears in the form of a laterite mound. The new section consists of a building constructed in 1951 contains a four-armed deity figure fixed with a Buddha�s head which is now the project of worship One of the most attractive sights for the tourists vising San Phra Kan is the great number of tamed monkeys which feed themselves on food offered to the deity by worshippers. Lunch at local restaurant. Before heading to Phitsanuloke, visit Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat, this monastery commonly called by the inhabitants as “Wat Yai”. Is the most important monastery of Phitsanuloke, the home of the famous Phra Buddha Chinnarat. Breakfast at the hotel, check out and proceed to Sukhothai Historical Park, the former greatness of Sukhothai has been preserved. Ruins of the royal palaces, Buddhist temples, the city gates, walls, moats, dams, ditches, canals and the water dyke control system which was the magical and spiritual center of the kingdom are now preserved and restored by the Fine Art Department with the co-operation of UNESCO. Not only with a view of fostering Thailand’s national identity but of safeguarding a fine example of mankind�s cultural heritage. After lunch at local restaurant continues to visit Si Satchanalai Historical Park, is located on the bank of Yom River. The ancient town, formerly called “Muang Chailang” was named “Si Satchanalai” during the reign of Phra Ruang Dynasty when new administrative center was established to replace Chaliang. Breakfast at the hotel, check out and proceed to Wat Phrathat Lampang Luang is one of the North’s finest temple. The chedi towers above surrounding trees. To the left of the chedi is a Viharn with a carved wood fa�ade and double-level roofs. Harmonious proportions and exquisite interior decoration make Wat Phrathat Lampang Luang one of the best examples of Northern style religious architecture and continue to Wat Phra Kaeo Don Tao, on the right bank of Wang River is an old building which consists of an impressive chedi on a rectangular base with a round spire topped with gilded bronze plaques. A Burmese style chapel topped by tiered roofs stands against it. The chapel contains a Burmese style Buddha image with particularly interesting decorations. The chapel probable dates from the late 18th century. Beautiful colors and elaborate harmony make Wat Phra Kaeo Don Tao on if Thailand’s best examples of Burmese style temples. Continue drive to Phayao, visit Wat Si Khom Kham, this monastery is locate on the bank of Phayao Lake commonly called by the villagers “Wat Phra Chao Ton Luang” housing a principal image having a lap width 14 meters, 17 meters in height. Located within the monastery compound is “Ho Thai Nithat” a building where antiques and exhibitions on literature, local intellectual and Phayao’s life style are presented with new technology devices. Last stop for this day is Phayao Lake or “Kwan Phayao” this natural lagoon having clear and clean water occupies an area of 12,800 rai, is beautiful and a breeding source for fresh water fishes. Breakfast at the hotel, proceed to North Thailand is well known for its exotic hill tribes and this morning we will visit some of their villages. The drive takes us on narrow hilly roads through beautiful landscape with spectacular views to the villages of the Akha and Yao hill tribes. Then drive to Mae Sai, which is the most northern town of Thailand on the border of Burma. Take lunch then continue to the center of the famous Golden Triangle, the meeting point of the borders of Burma, Laos and Thailand. For those who would like to come even closer to the border of Burma and Laos, Visit to the old Opium House before continuing to the provincial town of Chiang Saen, which is located at the scenic borders of the Mekong River. Breakfast at the hotel, Check out and transfer to Wat Rong Khun, better known as “the White Temple” is one of the most recognizable temples in Thailand. The temple outside the town of Chiang Rai attracts a large number of visitors, both Thai and foreign, making it one of Chiang Rai�s most visited attractions. Lunch at local restaurant and drive to Chiang Mai visit Cotton and Silk Weaving Village or “San Kamphaeng” on the both sides along this road, there are many factories of handicrafts; silverware, lacquer ware, wood carving etc. the people are divided into communities, each working at their own crafts. For those interested in craft, endless time can be spent visiting the communities and watching the delicate workmanship. The craftmen are friendly people and they are proud to show visitors around, whether they buy their wares or not then transfer to hotel for check in and free for leisure. Breakfast at the hotel; visit Thai Elephant Care Centre, Visit and interact with elderly elephants. Learn to make grinded grass. Feed elephants with grinded grass. Visit elephant cemetery and area of resting in the night time. Learn to make herb balls. Prepare to bath with elephants. Bath with an elephant, Feed elderly elephants with a basket of banana, Bath with an elephant and say goodbye, lunch at local restaurant and continue to Doi Suthep is the most famous of Chiang Mai’s temples and its most prominent sitting at 1685 meters above the city. Nestled on a small sub peak on Doi Pui Mountain the temple affords spectacular views across the city and beyond. Even for those who are not temple buffs the view is worth the trip alone. We will take you up the winding road towards the base of the temple, here you will have the choice of tackling the 306 steps to the temple or there is a funicular railway for those who are less steady on their feet. Following the temple visit it we will then proceed to visit a Hmong hill tribe settlement. Doi Suthep Temple is a ‘must see’ on any visit to Chiang Mai. For those who are interested we can arrange a visit to Phu Ping Palace which is situated between the Hmong village and Doi Suthep. Before transferring you to your hotel we will stop by a real Thai local market (either Warorot or Payom) where you can take in all the sights and sounds that a working local market offers. – Overnight in Chiang Mai
