Beaches in Thailand
The Thailand Beaches are a not to be missed destination. Picture an endless supply of sun, sea and sand. The ideal beach has nice sand, clear water, with no development or with unobtrusive development and is never being crowded. Thailand’s most popular area is the Andaman Sea. There are more than 300 islands, each one more distinct from the next and so many different things to see and to do.
Ko Lanta
Ko Lanta is an island where you’ll be certain to find an uncrowded beach. Located in the Krabi Province, one of the southern provinces of Thailand, Ko Lanta offers fantastic scuba diving with exotic marine life and grand coral reefs. The sunsets are legendary. Its long coastline with many beaches with their own charm and atmosphere. The season in Ko Lanta runs from October through April with the most visitors here December to March.
Ko Phi Phi
The largest of the Phi Phi Islands, Ko Phi Phi Don is a non-volcanic island, made mostly of limestone. Accessible from Phuket, with all visitors arriving by boat, Ko Phi Phi Don has great beaches and popular diving and snorkeling spots. Much of the island is a protected marine reserve.
Ko Samet
Koh Samet is a small island in the Eastern Gulf Coast, within easy reach of Bangkok and Pattaya. This is a great destination with powder white sand, mostly clean seas, an unusually fine and stable climate. Samet is easy to get to from Bangkok, the sand quality is outstanding, the waters shelve slowly and are warm, clear and safe. The beaches on the east and northeast of Samet is by far the most popular and visited ones and they are beautiful.
Ko Phangan
The island of Koh Phangan offers plenty of beaches. Koh Phangan is a tropical paradise in the Gulf of Thailand. Koh Phangan is well known for its full moon parties each month as well as its incredible beaches.
Phuket
In the east, the dreamscape karst limestone stacks of Phang Nga Bay and the Phi Phi islands await on the horizon. The west coast has the beaches ranging from tiny sheltered coves to long and near-empty expanses of sand. Phuket beaches are known for soft stretches of sand and crystal clear waters. The winding coastal roads of Phuket offer easy access to some of the best beaches in the world as well and some of the most stunning views. Some of the more popular tourist beaches can get a little crowded however there are also a number of Phuket beaches that offer seclusion and relaxation.
Krabi
Krabi beaches match the dream of for a memorable tropical holiday. Krabi Province is blessed with stunning coastal vistas featuring towering limestone cliffs, soft white sand beaches, small coves and offshore islands. There are no beaches in Krabi but the town makes an excellent base as there are an infinite number of beautiful, very accessible beaches within an hour’s drive or boat ride.
Ko Nang Yuang
Koh Nang Yuan is not too far from the idyllic diving islands of Koh Tao. The vivid blue waters, the white sand, and the picturesque rocks make a beach perfect scene. It is famous for its diving spots and its great snorkeling beach. Day trippers come from the islands of Ko Tao, Ko Pha Ngan and Ko Samui, as well as from Surat Thani and Chumphon on the Thai mainland.
