Vang Vieng

Vang Vieng is a riverside town in Central Laos. The town has been known as a party destination for years, and whilst this still remains more outdoor-oriented activities are now available such as mountain biking, trekking, kayaking, caving, swimming and rock climbing.

Tham Poukham – Blue Lagoon, is a small pond and on most days, it is plenty crowded, with tourists practically landing on top of each other from the rope swing.

The small town’s striking river landscape lined with towering karst lures travellers. The area is known for its limestone and karst formations.

Breathtaking views of the mountains of Pha Tang and Phatto Nokham.

The town’s laid-back feel and the tubing craze that kicked off here in the early 2000s made it a haunt for backpackers. With the passing of the tube scene it is a far calmer place than it once was

Vang Vieng is now the centre for the great outdoors, with excellent cycling, walking, rock climbing, caving, and kayaking on offer.
